Apple’s Private Relay (Hide My Email) is a privacy feature that lets you create randomly generated email addresses when signing into an app or website. These addresses forward emails to the email linked to your Apple ID, helping keep your real email private. You can read more about Hide My Email on Apple’s help center.
Using Hide My Email When creating an IFTTT Account
When creating an IFTTT account, if you select Continue with Apple, it will create an IFTTT account using your Apple ID. As part of the signup process, you'll see an option to enable Hide My Email.
Continue with Apple shown as an option when creating an IFTTT Account
If you don’t select Hide My Email, your IFTTT account will be created using the email address linked to your Apple ID.
If you do select Hide My Email, Apple will generate a private relay address to receive emails from IFTTT related to your account.
These private relay addresses use the domain @privaterelay.appleid.com
and include a randomly generated string before the @
sign. This is the email address associated with your IFTTT account.

Can You Change the Login Email Linked to Your IFTTT Account?
Yes! If you’d prefer to use your real email instead of a private relay address, you can update your login email at any time by visiting this page in your account settings.
To do so, enter a new email address in the Email field then scroll down and press update.
Can You Use a Private Relay Address to Send Emails on IFTTT?
At the moment, Apple’s Private Relay addresses don’t allow sending emails through IFTTT’s Gmail or Email services. If you're using either service, you'll need to update the connected email to a regular address via the service connection page in your IFTTT account.
Seeing Duplicate Charges on IFTTT?
If you’re seeing duplicate charges, it's possible you have more than one IFTTT account; one with your real email and another using your Private Relay address. Try logging in using the Continue with Apple option to check for a second account tied to a private relay email.
