Two-step verification adds an extra level of security to your account by requiring both your password and a verification code to sign in. It's not required, but we do recommend enabling it if possible.
Enabling two-step verification
- Sign in to your account settings.
- Under two-step verification, click Enable two-step verification.
- Enter your password.
- Finish the setup process in your authentication app, or by verifying your phone number.
Keep your backup code in a safe place! If you lose access to your phone, this backup code will be necessary to access your IFTTT account. For account security reasons, we will be unable to retrieve your backup codes for you.
Disabling two-step verification
💡Note: You must have access to your existing authentication method or your backup code in order to turn off two-step verification. IFTTT cannot recover your account if you do not have one of those two.
- Sign in to your IFTTT account settings.
- Under two-step verification, click Disable two-step verification.
- Enter your password.
- Enter your two-step verification code or the backup code generated when you turned on two-step verification.
