Background
When creating an Applet, you might see a message saying that it uses features that require a Pro or Pro+ subscription. This usually means the Applet includes a Trigger, Query, or Action that isn’t available on the Free tier.
Most services on IFTTT offer Triggers and Actions you can use on the free plan. However, some services include Triggers and Actions that require a Pro or Pro+ subscription to access. Queries are only available on the Pro+ tier.
This guide explains how to check whether a service or a specific Trigger or Action requires a subscription, and where to look for that information when you’re creating an Applet.
From the Service Page
You can confirm whether a service’s Triggers and Actions require a subscription by visiting its service page on IFTTT. A service page be accessed by typing the name of the service into the search bar in ifttt.com/explore then pressing the relevant service card.
Once on the service page, scroll down to the section that lists the service’s Triggers, Queries, and Actions. Each item will show whether it is available on the Free, Pro, or Pro+ tier.
Here’s how to read the badges:

In the example below from the X (Twitter) service, the Pro badge indicates these options need a Pro or Pro+ plan:-

Checking the service page is the most direct way to see what services are available with your current plan.
From the Applet Composer
You can also see which features require a subscription while creating or editing an Applet.
After selecting a service in the Applet composer, you’ll see the list of available Triggers, Queries, and Actions. Each item will display a badge if it requires a Pro or Pro+ subscription.
Here’s how to read the badges:
No badge shown
When building an Applet, Triggers and Actions without a badge are available on all tiers.
In the example below, the options shown do not include a Pro or Pro+ badge, so they can be used on any plan:Pro badge
If a Trigger or Action displays a Pro badge in the composer, it requires an IFTTT Pro subscription.
In the example below, the Pro badge indicates these options need a Pro or Pro+ plan:Pro+ badge

This is helpful if you notice a badge while selecting a Trigger, Query, or Action during Applet creation and want to know whether your current plan allows you to use it.
