Background
Before using a service in Applet you'll need to connect it to your IFTTT account. To connect a service on IFTTT, go to the service’s page, select Connect, and follow the prompts to sign in with your account credentials for that service.
Please note that the credentials entered on the following screen should be those for the service you’re connecting, not your IFTTT account. For example, if you’re connecting Philips Hue, you’ll need to enter your Hue account credentials rather than your IFTTT login details.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If you’re having trouble connecting a service, try the steps below.
Double-check your login details
One of the most common issues is entering incorrect login information. If you see an error related to credentials, try logging in to that service directly (outside of IFTTT) to confirm you’re using the correct username and password.
Try connecting while already signed in
If you’re still experiencing issues, open a web browser and log in to the service you’d like to connect. Next, in a new browser tab open the service page on IFTTT and press Connect.
Since you’re already signed in on the other tab, the connection process may skip the login step and complete successfully. This approach often helps resolve issues related to invalid credentials if the wrong login or password was used earlier.
Check for service or connection issues
You can check if the service may be experiencing an outage which may cause issues connecting to it by visiting status.ifttt.com.
If there is not a status page for the service but you're still experiencing issues connecting after trying the above steps, please contact our support team here.
