Applets on IFTTT can be created by going to ifttt.com/create, then adding at least one trigger and one action.
Most services on IFTTT support triggers, queries, and actions allowing for a wide range of automation possibilities. However, some services might offer just one or two of these functionalities, rather than all three, depending on the specific capabilities of the service
When adding a trigger to your Applet you may see a message that shows services with no available triggers, or when adding an action you may see a message that shows services with no available actions.
This indicates the service you're searching for is available on IFTTT but can't be used in that part of an Applet. For example, in the Gif below we're attempting to add the Weather Underground service into an Applet's action:
The Weather Underground service on IFTTT support triggers and queries, but not actions. Meaning, it won't be possible to use in the action, IE the Then That portion of an Applet.
When you search for it while adding an action to the Applet, it will appear as a service, but there won't be any actions available for selection.
Instead, Weather Underground would need to be used the Applet's trigger or query.
When creating an Applet, you might notice that some services have no available triggers, queries, or actions, when seeing a message like the one above.
If that occurs, you'll need to use the service in a different part of your Applet.
If you notice that a service doesn't include a trigger, query, or action that you believe would be useful, we recommend providing feedback directly on the service's details page.
To access the details page, visit ifttt.com/explore and click on the Services tab. From there, search for the name of the service you're interested in. Once you find it, click on the service card, then navigate to the Details tab.
This will show you all the triggers, queries, and actions currently available for that service. If you'd like to suggest something new, you can use the "Suggest New" button to share your ideas directly with the service owner. It's a great way to offer feedback for potential future updates to that service.
