Newer Google Assistant devices have a built-in Voice Match feature that lets individuals train Google Assistant to recognize their voices for a more personalized experience.
This has several implications for how IFTTT Applets are triggered by Google Assistant on these devices.
- When a user is voice matched and linked to a supported shared device, Google Assistant will be able to run Applets enabled by the individual user's personal IFTTT account. Applets set up by the device owner will not be triggered by other voice matched users.
- If a user is not voice matched and linked to a device they will be able to trigger IFTTT Applets set up by the owner of the device.
- Devices that do not support the feature or have Voice Match turned off allow all users to trigger the owner's IFTTT Applets by saying the trigger phrases.
