Each Applet depends on one or more services to power its Triggers, Queries, or Actions. This section covers how to connect services, manage them, disconnect ones you no longer need, and take advantage of features like multi-account support.
Connecting services
When you enable or create an Applet, IFTTT will prompt you to connect any required services that you haven’t connected yet. You can also connect a service directly from its service page. Just press Connect and follow the prompts to authorize IFTTT’s access.
Each service page includes:
-
Applets – A list of Applets that use the service and can be enabled
-
My Applets – Applets you’ve enabled or created that use the service
-
Details – A full list of the service’s available Triggers, Queries, and Actions. You can press any item to see what fields it includes and what Ingredients are available for Triggers and Queries
Once connected, a service will stay linked until you remove or update it.
Updating the connected account
To switch which account is connected to a service (for example, to log in with a different Google or Twitter account), go to the service page, press Settings, then select Reconnect. Log in with the new account you want to use. Unless you’re adding a new multi-account connection, all of your Applets using that service will now use the updated login.
Multi-account support
If you’re a Pro+ user, some services support connecting more than one account. This is useful if you manage multiple social media accounts, work across multiple personal and professional accounts, or otherwise need to connect multiple accounts to a specific IFTTT service.
To add multiple accounts to a single service, after connecting the first account:
-
Go to the service page
- Press Settings in the top right
-
Press Add account.
-
Sign in with the additional account.
You can then choose which account to use each time you create or edit an Applet.
Disconnecting services
If you want to remove a service from your account, go to its service page and press Settings, then select Remove.
-
If the service was used in any Applets you created, those Applets will be archived. They won’t run but can be restored later.
-
If the service was used in a published Applet you enabled, that Applet will be permanently deleted from your account. You can always enable it again later from the service page or from ifttt.com/explore.
Viewing your connected services
To see all the services currently connected to your account:
-
Visit ifttt.com/my_services, or
-
On web, click your profile icon in the top right and choose My Services, or
-
In the app, tap the profile icon in the bottom right and select My Services
-
If your profile icon shows a red exclamation mark, it means there’s an issue with a connected service. This usually happens when a service’s permissions expire or due to a credentials change.
