At IFTTT, we believe that everything works better together!
Our app allows you to do more with over 1000 different apps and services, including Twitter, Dropbox, Evernote, Fitbit, and Google Assistant.
We connect services together into Applets - automations that allow you to do things your apps and devices can't do on their own.
- For example, you could use IFTTT to sync iOS Calendar events to Google Calendar
What does IFTTT stand for?
IFTTT is short for "If This Then That".
(To pronounce IFTTT, just say "Gift" without the G!)
What does IFTTT mean?
One of the principal ideas in coding is If This, Then That. Software developers define a condition, and then tell the program what to do if that condition is met. IFTTT's no-code interface allows anybody to set a condition (if this) and combine it with a result (then that) by using Applets.
Before we shortened our name to IFTTT, we were called 'If This, Then That' because Applets would have one trigger and one action: If this happens — then that happens.
These days, we just call ourselves "IFTTT" because there's so much more you can do:
- Applets can have multiple actions (If this, then that, that, and that)
- Applets can run when you tell them to, at the touch of a Button (That!)
- And some Applets even have filters that mean they only run when a specific condition is met (If this and this, then that)
You can turn on Applets that already exist on our explore page, or you can make something custom for yourself.
