Note: This article is for devices running Android 8.0 and above specifically.
If you use the WiFi and Battery triggers, it's possible that they they can be delayed up to fifteen minutes after you update to Android 8.0.
However, there is a setting in the app you can turn on to avoid this delay. It will not affect the battery life of your device. It's also possible that enabling this setting will improve Applet speeds for other services, such as the location service.
Here is how to enable the setting in the app:
- Tap the My Applets tab on the lower right hand side of the screen
- Tap the gear icon in the top right corner
- Tap "Sync options"
- Toggle on "Run Android Battery and WiFi Applets faster"
When this setting is enabled, you will see a persistent notification on your device's status bar to let you know it is working.
If you want to modify the persistent notification, here is a video to help guide you through making that change:
If you want to know more about this change, you can check out this post on the Android Developer's website that gives additional background information for why we had to add this new setting to the IFTTT app.
